When did you start working at Howard+Helmer?
September 28, 1982. John and Ken interviewed me on the 26th, I was offered the job on the 27th and started the next day. I have been here ever since.

What does your day-to-day job entail?
Every day is different but it usually includes managing projects, mentoring intern architects and coordinating with clients and contractors.

What’s your favorite aspect of what you do for a living?
Helping turn a client’s dream into a built environment that successfully reflects their vision and values.

Where do you find inspiration?
The environment around me; both in God’s creation and where man has done a good job reflecting creativity; not just in architecture, but in art, music and food.

If you weren’t an architect, what could you see yourself doing?
Working as a travel guide or running a lodge in Canada.

Outside of work, what do you do for fun?
I absolutely love my time at our family cottage in Ontario—hiking, biking, camping, canoeing and taking naps in my hammock.

If you were traveling to a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?
Definitely my family, the Bible and a very versatile Leatherman.
