Phillip Jordan

When did you start working at Howard+Helmer?
June 1992

What does your day-to-day job entail?
It depends on the day. The gamut of activities includes coordinating communication between consultants, owner, coworkers, and suppliers; working on AutoCad; designing on 3-D software; writing contracts and scheduling hourly/daily/weekly tasks.

What’s your favorite aspect of what you do for a living?
Designing a unique, successful solution to a problem that my client is proud of.

Where do you find inspiration?
In creation—the structural design of a nautilus, a honeycomb, a leaf, the wing structure of a bird, etc.

If you weren’t an architect, what could you see yourself doing?
Golfing a lot more.

Outside of work, what do you do for fun?
Taking my family to mom’s farm to ride ATVs, trim trees, mow grass, shoot guns and campout. Taking my son on Boy Scout adventures.

If you were traveling to a deserted island, what three things would you take with you?
My family, an electronic tablet and Internet access.
